Details of the Day

  • Today was the final race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season

  • This was the first-time that Phoenix Raceway has hosted the season-ending event

  • Kenseth hung in the top 20 early in the race, but as the race wore on, he consistently fought a tight-center, loose-off condition that only worsened as the tires began to give up during each green-flag run.

  • The caution flag was shown four times for a total of 27 laps

  • The lead changed 19 times among nine drivers

Phil Surgen, Crew Chief, No. 42 Credit One Bank Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE “We had a lot of adversity thrown our way this year, and I can’t thank everyone enough for the hard work put in during a season unlike any other. The guys on the road crew worked hard all year through a lot of change to do the best they could each week, guys on the pit crew stepped up when they were needed, and everyone at the shop worked tirelessly throughout the year to send good cars to the track each weekend. Thanks also to Matt for stepping in and driving our car this season. The challenge he accepted was a tough one, and we appreciate the professionalism and experience he brought to our team. I know everyone will enjoy some much needed down time before we get back to preparing for next season.”
