R+L Carriers car debuts
at Coca-Cola 600

New sponsor R+L Carriers debuted its 2006 primary paint scheme at the Coca-Cola 600. Matt will run the scheme again at two more races during the year. Matt’s starting position of 6th and finishing position of 5th belie the effort he and the team put forth over the course of the 600-mile race. Problems in the pits dropped the #17 to the back of the field, making it necessary for Matt to work his way back to the front.

NASCAR required small 14-gallon fuel cells in an effort to curtail tire problems.
