Late-race pit strategy backfired on the 17 team — and most of the field — at NHMS today as a rainstorm brought out the red flag with 16 laps to go. Kenseth was scored in 18th at the time.

Kenseth 2nd in All-Star Challenge at MIS
Matt Kenseth finished 2nd at MIS on Tuesday evening, Kyle Busch was 12th, and Tony Stewart finished 16. The race was won by Steve Carlson who led all 100 laps. Carlson is a nine-time champion in the ARTGO and NASCAR Midwest Series.

Kenseth gets 8th at Infineon, jumps into last Chase spot
Matt Kenseth took home a well-deserved 8th place finish at Infineon raceway today. It is his first top 10 finish there, despite the fact that the California road course is statistically his worst track. Kenseth also jumps up another two spots in the Sprint Cup points and now sits 12th and narrowly holds the last berth in the Chase for the Championship.

Matt to race at Iowa Speedway
Matt Kenseth will race in the July 20 ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Model event at the Iowa Speedway in Newton. The Super Late Model event will unfold in consecutive 75-lap segments and is coupled with an ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series race.
